Service Description

Welcome to North Seymour Island, a true sanctuary for seabirds and one of the most wildlife-rich islands in the Galápagos. Though only 1.9 km² in size, this arid island hosts one of the largest and most active breeding colonies in the archipelago. From courtship rituals to baby hatchlings, there's always something happening in this living documentary of life on land and sea. 🗓 Itinerary Overview ⏰ Departure: Between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. 📍 Transfer: 40-minute bus ride to the Itabaca Channel, followed by a 20-minute boat ride to North Seymour (comfortable vessel with restroom and shaded areas). 🕓 Estimated return: Around 4:00 p.m., depending on sea conditions. 🦅 North Seymour Land Excursion Accompanied by a certified bilingual naturalist guide, you’ll enjoy a 2.5 km walk across rugged terrain dotted with cactus forests, nesting sites, and volcanic rock paths. You’ll witness incredible wildlife interactions up close, including: Frigatebirds puffing up their brilliant red throat pouches during mating displays Blue-footed boobies performing their famous dance Swallow-tailed gulls, lava lizards, pelicans, and even Galápagos snakes Both land and marine iguanas, and playful sea lions lounging by the trails This dry island has no natural freshwater source, so animals like iguanas have adapted to extract moisture from cactus flowers—just one example of the evolutionary marvels you’ll discover along the way. 🐢 Snorkeling at Las Bachas Beach After returning to the boat for a freshly prepared hot lunch and snacks, you’ll head to nearby Las Bachas Beach on northern Santa Cruz Island. This white-sand beach is ideal for relaxing and snorkeling in gentle waters teeming with life. Beneath the surface, expect to see: Colorful reef fish Whitetip reef sharks Green sea turtles Rays gliding through the sandy shallows This final stop offers a peaceful, refreshing end to a day full of wild sights and unforgettable moments. ✅ Tour Includes: Certified bilingual naturalist guide Hot lunch and snacks Drinking water Full snorkel gear (mask, snorkel, fins) Wetsuits available for rent Whether you're a birder, photographer, or simply a lover of nature, North Seymour is a Galápagos classic, bursting with life and perfect for all experience levels.
