Hugo Masaquiza

Founder and Owner

Hugo arrived in the Galapagos Islands at the age of 16, where he began his career in tourism taking on various roles before discovering his true passion: diving. In 2006, he acquired the dive operation that, under his leadership, grew into Ocean Deep Diving, where he is now the proud owner.

As a professional diver with extensive experience, Hugo has led every department of the company, combining his deep knowledge of the ocean with exceptional leadership. Today, he focuses on the supervision and direction of the team, ensuring that Ocean Deep Diving maintains the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and passion for showcasing the unique biodiversity of the Galapagos Islands.

Xavier Masaquiza

Innovation & Operations Lead

Xavier is a technology professional and Hugo’s nephew. He first joined Ocean Deep Diving in 2022 on a part-time basis while continuing his career in various national and international companies. Thanks to the experience gained throughout his professional journey and his strong technical skills, he is now an essential part of the team as Head of Operations and Technological Innovation.

In addition to his background in technology, Xavier is a certified diver trained by Ocean Deep Diving, allowing him to combine his passion for the ocean with his professional expertise. His contribution merges technical knowledge with strategic vision, driving improvements in internal processes and customer experiences, ensuring that Ocean Deep Diving continues to grow with professionalism, efficiency, and innovation.
