North Seymour is a small island of approximately 2 km², located just 7 km north of Baltra. It’s one of the best places in the Galápagos to witness large colonies of seabirds, including blue-footed boobies and magnificent frigatebirds. No matter the season, you’re likely to observe fascinating courtship displays among these iconic species.

Snorkeling at Bachas Beach: this 1-hour session offers chances to see sea turtles, white-tip reef sharks, sea lions—or simply relax on the beach.

Isla Plazas consists of two small islands just off the east coast of Santa Cruz, though visitors only access the South Island. After a dry landing at the jetty, you’ll enter an opuntia cactus forest, where it can be tricky to walk due to the large numbers of land iguanas sprawled across the ground. A 1 km trail leads you through sea lion colonies and along a cliff-top walk where swallow-tailed gulls and other species nest. This is an excellent vantage point to observe red-billed tropicbirds, magnificent frigatebirds, pelicans, and Audubon’s shearwaters. The bay also offers a fantastic spot for snorkeling with sea lions and reef fish.

Pinzon Island, also known as Duncan Island, has remained isolated from the rest of the archipelago for millions of years. Surrounded by deep waters and covered in rocky terrain with sparse vegetation, it’s home to unique species such as Darwin’s finches, Galápagos doves, flycatchers, snakes, lava lizards, and its own subspecies of giant tortoise. Nearby, Daphne Island rises dramatically from the sea with its volcanic crater, though access is restricted by the National Park.

Discover Las Tintoreras, one of the most fascinating corners of Isabela and the Galápagos archipelago. This small group of volcanic islets, located just off Puerto Villamil, is famous for its crystal clear channels where white tip reef sharks (“tintoreras”) rest, as well as for its spectacular colonies of marine iguanas, penguins, sea lions, and a wide variety of coastal birds.
